Tonight was the 5th KUBAS Christmas Party
A wonderful meal was had with a KUBAS musical quiz to identified 48 musical instruments. The winners were Kathy, John V.T. & John H with a total of 41 correct answers. The prize was a bottle of prosecco wine kindly donated by Carol at the Camden Arms. A Christmas raffle was had with the prizes kindly donated by the members.
Entertainment was provided by Akardo with his Juggling Hats, Silk Change production and a musical montage of songs in A minor. A few usual gags and jokes were thrown in for good measure for people who wanted to catch them!
A great night was had by all.

KUBAS 4th Christmas Party.
We had a total of 38 members join us.
A traditional sit down 3 course Christmas meal with a musical quiz and free after dinner entertainment was provided.
David did his "act as known" with his hat juggling and traditional tried & tested Christmas jokes.
A delightful quartet that consisted of Pamela, Carole, Gill and David played various songs including Dearest Dickey, Dill Pickles Rag, Mr Slator's Parrot, Da Slockit Light, Duelling Banjos, Zombie Jamboree, Mason's Apron and Ain't Misbehaving. There were various members joining in with a bit of Irish dancing and also playing the spoons!
The musical quiz was won by Table 4 and the free raffle with prizes donated by the members was won by Paul, June, Cora, Graham, Eileen, Peter, Brian, Maggie, Carole, Barry, Di and Irma.
A great night was had by all to round off the final KUBAS 2018 meeting. Happy Christmas until next year.

This was the 1st KUBAS Christmas Meal and what a great time everyone had from the feedback received.

The food was excellent and so was the company with smiles and laughter all around.
There was a stand up cabaret with some table hopping magic to suit.

A new consolidated Songbook 1-2-3 has been generated that now incorporates the bonus songs including “Tunes” to make it even easier for the Tablet users!
There was a Teach-In session on Bar/Barre Chords that was well received.
A Teach-In on “String Picking” will be scheduled at a future meeting.

A big thank you once again to everyone for a really truly wonderful evening at the second KUBAS meeting at the Camden Arms in Pembury.
We had a total of 23 members with 3 apologies from members who were unable to join us who were sadly missed.
A variety of songs were played. New songs included “All My Loving, Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You, Cigarettes Whisky & Wild Wild Women, Hotel California, Runaway, Sunny Afternoon and Tunes”.
The last of the new songs “Tunes” is a variation of the song “Things” with lyrics that have been rewritten for KUBAS. This has been voted by the members to be the KUBAS theme song.
Congratulations to Tony who was the winner of the Belgium chocolates in the free raffle. A big thank you to Colette and Bob for donating the prize.
There was a request for a Teach-In on Bar/Barre chords. This has been scheduled as a 10 minute session at the next meeting.
KUBAS has their first booking at the Pembury Primary School Christmas Fair on Saturday 28th November.

Thank you for your kind support last night at the first KUBAS meeting at the Camden Arms in Pembury.
Great positive feedback was received with everyone having fun with a strum.

A variety of songs were played, good old trusted ones with new ones thrown in for good measure to keep us on our toes or fingers!
New songs included “New York – New York”, “I’m Going to Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter”, “The Wonder of You”, “Reach”, “Swinging on a Star”, “When I’m Sixty Four” to name but a few.
